The Friends of the Library was one of 208 groups to recently receive national grant funds from the National Endowment for the Arts for the Big Read Project, a program aimed at encouraging people to read.
Bonds to fund the construction of a new Fort Bayard Medical Center should close by mid-August and the new facility should break ground the following day.
